Christian
Rontgen has kindly sent us these great photographs of his
two Knabstruppers. They are Balios Skrodstrup by Xanthos
out of Chanel af Elmelygard (Apollon) and Indian Boy by
Apollon out of Lady Prik (Rasmus af Damgard). Typical of
the versatile Knabstrupper breed they have competed successfully
in dressage (A and L level), jumping, eventing and draghunting. |

Young Knabstruppers have been flying the flag for the
breed recently in British Dressage.
Rughavens Sheik, a four year old, won his first competition with
66% at novice level.
He was ridden by dressage trainer Claire Knowles who bought him
as a two year old from Denmark. Claire has backed him and brought
him on herself.
She purchased him at the same time as Rosanna Vazquez bought her
young Knabstrupper Vil Aetsted. Claire has trained Rose and Vil
Aetsted, who is now five years old, and she has also had success
in dressage,
winning at novice level and qualifying for the Sheepgate Tack n
Togs Dressage Championship.
Rose
purchased Vil
Aetsted from Denmark and she
is a daughter of our Knabstrupper mare Vixen.
Both Knabstruppers are proving to have good movements and
excellent trainable
temps, an attribute the breed is renowned for.

Knabstrupper
wins 2 gold medals at the 2004 Paralympics in Athens |
|
The
graded Knabstrupper stallion Zanko (KNN 134) under the guidance
of his Norwegian rider Anne Lubbe won two gold medals
in dressage at the 2004 Athens Paralympics. Zanko is
by Xanthos (KNN 112), the Danish knabstrupper stallion who was
himself successfully
competed
in dressage in Denmark. It is great to see a Knabstrupper doing
so well. The following comment appeared in Horse and Hound "This
strikingly marked ten year old was the only one to break the 70%
barrier with some fabulous half-passes and extended work".

We were very happy to receive this photo of Imposingh competing
at the Scottish Dressage Championships 2004. We sold him as a green
four year old to Lee Wright who is producing superb results with
him in dressage and showing. He has very quickly gained dressage
points since affilliating. He is by the thoroughbred stallion Pulsingh
who is the sire of a Burghley Young Event Horse champion, many
event and show horses and the four star eventer Midnight Magic.
We have retained Imposingh's half sister, Warmington
Bess and have high hopes for her as an eventer and future broodmare. |
